In the Kitchen: Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

[picture from smittenkitchen.com/blog}
Now, I'm not usually one for desserts with peanut butter in them.  But it was one of my co-worker's birthday today and I knew she liked peanut butter stuff.  After a little bit of google-ing, I came across THIS RECIPE and it has changed my view on peanut butter desserts for the better.  They have to be the best peanut butter cookies I've ever had and I just couldn't go on without sharing the recipe with you all!  They seriously have the best consistency.  I made one slight adjustment to the ones that I made.  I didn't have any peanut butter chips, so I threw about 5 Reese's cups into a food processor and tossed them in with the chocolate chips... and it was glorious! Anyways, I hope a few of you get the chance to enjoy these cookies as much as I did! :)

Baby Announcement Poster

One of my best friends had her first little baby  about 4 weeks ago and I just couldn't help but surprise her with a little gift since my husband was going to visit them in Colorado!  I saw something similar on pinterest a few weeks ago and knew that I could easily make one for Ashley and her little boy's new room. It has all of the baby's birth information on it; something I know Ashely (and any mom) will cherish!

I was so surprised at how easy this was to create!  A simple design program + one piece of cardstock + a frame (mine was from Michael's)= one cute gift!  So simple yet very meaningful!

And here's a little picture of the cute little fella!  Braxton Liam Baughn.  Nothing short of adorable!

HAPPY WEEKEND to you all!  Go do something creative (even if that means stealing ideas off of pinterest)!!  :)

A few Christmas Projects

 Man, I can't believe it's been since November since I've posted anything!  I guess the excitement and busyness of the holidays superseded any desire (or time) to blog! I was also super busy making a few gifts and odds and ends for people!  Which brings me to my most favorite project I've done so far!

A good family friend of ours was interested in ordering a few homemade Christmas stockings and asked if I would be interested in making some for her!  Of course, I'm always opened to new challenges and projects!  After researching a few sewing patterns, I ended up blending a few of them together to make my own and I was quite pleasantly surprised with how they turned out too!

After sewing the stocking together, I added a little chipboard letter, painted it with a little glitter and hung it with twine
And my friend sent me a picture of them on her mantle!  Don't they look sooo good with her decor?!  I love the way they turned out and might have to make some for myself soon too!

I also made a few other things for people over the holidays, but here's another pillow I've made!  This one was a Christmas present for a friend who lives in Alabama (hence the AL state shape and the hounds tooth fabric :) )

That's all for now folks!  Wickett wanted to say "Merry Christmas" to you all before February came around!!  :)
